I am a Chartered Professional Accountant and the Principal of Kermode Accounting & Advisory, a full-service accounting firm working with clients across British Columbia and throughout Canada.
I built Kermode around a simple idea, accounting works best when it is done consistently, on time, and in relationship with the client. We do not wait until year end to understand a business. Our work is ongoing, structured, and current. That means managed payroll, bank reconciliations, monthly financial statements, tax filings, and advisory work are handled as part of a continuous process, not a once-a-year scramble.
Our Goal is Long-Term
We operate as a long-term, monthly partner to our clients. Our goal is to take accounting off their plate entirely, so they are not coordinating multiple professionals or worrying about whether filings are late or information is incomplete. We use client management and workflow systems that keep our team accountable and keep clients engaged with their finances as they go. I am proud to be from northern British Columbia. I was born and raised in Terrace, educated at University of Northern British Columbia, and I have chosen to build my career and firm here. I travel regularly throughout Northwest BC meeting with clients, and I believe strongly in the future of the region. At the same time, we operate as a fully digital firm and work seamlessly with clients across Canada, often collaborating by Teams when geography is a factor.
Alongside my practice, I teach accounting at Coast Mountain College. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy. It allows me to stay sharp, share the subject I care about, and engage with people who want to learn and grow. It also reflects how I approach client work, accounting should be understood, not hidden behind jargon.
